Hobson Pledge is currently raising awareness with their campaign that NOBODY SHOULD LOSE OUT ON HEALTHCARE BECAUSE OF THEIR RACE as Under the Government’s policy, your ability to access healthcare is impacted by the colour of your skin.

In New Zealand Healthcare is NOT based on need but in race. The Ministry of Health New Zealand is in breach of the Treaty of Waitangi, as eliminating all forms of racism is critical to upholding our obligations to Māori under the Treaty. Article the Third states "In consideration thereof, Her Majesty the Queen of England extends to the Natives of New Zealand Her Royal Protection and imparts to them all the rights and privileges of British subjects." Let the Treaty be exercised to the very end. May all the Māori be treated equal to the Pakeha. If Health New Zealand is to act lawfully it must adhere to the Spirit of the Treaty that we are now one People. As each chief signed Hobson said "He iwi tahi tātou", meaning "We are [now] one people". The Ministry of Health New Zealand is in violation of the Treaty of Waitangi and is acting criminally by instituting Apartheid, Discrimination, persecution and Racism into their business model. As it is NOT the organization, but the individuals within it that are acting unlawfully, criminal charges should be held against The Ministry of Health New Zealand Management and employees.
The Crime of Apartheid is associated with a framework for discrimination and persecution. Apartheid is a politicised topic raising issues of racial discrimination, institutional coercion and personal oppression. Apartheid might radicalise even the apolitical. Racist medical training and healthcare services abuse human rights thus fractures a common sense of identity and status. Racism comprises racial prejudice and societal power and manifests in different ways. It results in the unequal distribution of power, privilege, resources and opportunity to produce outcomes that chronically favour, privilege and benefit one group over another. All forms of racism are harmful, and its effects are distinct and not felt equally.
